3) Silicone oil fan clutch, using silicone oil as medium, uses silicone oil shear force to transmit torque. The speed of the fan is designed to ensure that the engine is not overheated in the worst operating conditions. Therefore, the speed of the fan should be controlled within an appropriate range in the normal driving process of the vehicle, so as to reduce noise and improve the economy of the engine. For engine driven fans, the fan clutch is usually used to control its speed.
4) The clutch is internally covered with viscous fluid (silicone oil), and its torque is transmitted by shear force. A bimetal sheet is installed in front of the fan to induce the air temperature passing through the radiator, thereby controlling the silicone oil content in the working chamber of the fan. Only when necessary, can the torque be transmitted to make the fan rotate.
